Posting again

Well, It's bee a while since we've "blogged" so I thought I would get started again. We have had a wonderful Christmas. We spent a week on Hilton Head Island in a Timeshare Condo with a great view - we were right on the ocean.

We had lots of fun, doing family stuff an relaxing.

We have a new camera (Nikon D40) and are enjoying taking many photos (took 750 while in SC!).

Fun at the Park

Today, Len took our Five younger ones (Sarah was with Meiching and Jonah was at a friend's house) plus the twins of our friends plus Zac Crook (our "Weekend Son", smile!) to the park. We had lots of fun!

A sample of Meiah's Presentation

Hi, this video is a bit of Meiah's presentation. She really did a good job.

Meiah's Presentation at School

Well, on Friday, October 31, 2008 Meiah had her first big presentation for school. Mommy and Daddy and Bekah and Josiah and Micah all went to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind to attend the "Character" Day in 5th grade. The students all choose a character from their Social Studies text and have to do a report on that person. Meiah chose Anne Hutchinson and did a very nice job. Photos here show Meiah making her presentation, Meiah with her whole class and Meiah with Rebekah, her teacher.

Anne Hutchinson (Meiah's character for school)

Meiah will be presenting her report on Anne Hutchinson at school on Friday. She had to research Anne's life (click here to learn about her yourself) and prepare a poster. She also has to dress as her character while she presents to the class.

This is a big deal as it's the first "report" she's been asked to do. She's quite excited and as you can see from the photos, Meiching has once again sewn a great costume for her. Meiching and I and Micah and Bekah and Josiah will all be going to FSDB to see her.

Meiah is hard at work

Meiah's teacher, Ms. Rebekah Snead, sent along this picture of Meiah hard at work on her first day at FSDB. All went well, according to Rebekah.

Here is some of what her teacher said about Meiah's first day:

"...Just a short note to let you know that Meiah had a very nice day! The kids all love her.... but I'm sure you expected that anyway, right?! She is SUCH a sweet girl. We're going to have a great year. Oooh, she's a cutie when she flashes that "I did it!" smile! The rest of my class "high fived" and celebrated with her!!"

Tonight at home, Meiah told us all about her new classmates and what she did in school. We worked on her reading and her vocabulary. She was also very proud to be working on multiplication tables.

We'll keep everyone posted on Meiah's progress at FSDB!

Meiah at FSDB.

Today, Meiah began 5th grade at the Florida School for the the Deaf &

Blind in St. Augustine. Her class ( see photo ) has 5 other girls and 1 boy. She has a great teacher that Len has known for many years.

It's Laundry Time!

Well, here at the Roberson Household, we really get into Laundry. When the dryer goes off it's an "all call" for "all hands on deck" to come and fold. Each kid has a basket that they fill up with clean clothes and then take away (ideally to actually put away!). Here are some photos for you to see how it's done!

Jeff Slaughter & the Robersons

What fun we had today! We went to a concert of Jeff Slaughter. He is the musician who writes the music for Lifeway's VBS. He was awesome. Here is a photo of our kids with Jeff ( the cute blonde isn't a new Roberson - she's a friend from church).

Chee Wa Wa

Today we saw the "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" movie. It was funny and a good family movie. Below is a photo of the kids and the movie poster.

Josiah is sick!

Well, Josiah went to see the doctor and we found that he has an ear infection! Full blown. Here he is trying to get his fever under control. But, he certainly can multi-task as you can see - being sick and writing! He loves to write. here he is writing after his Mommy signed to him (in ASL) "MY MOM LOVES JOSIAH" and he would quickly write out the English! Go Josiah!

Bekah's brave moment

Bekah had her blood work done today.  There were a total of 4 different blood tests.  Through these blood tests, we hope to find out what exactly she is allergic too.
Since our last visit with the doctor, her skin has cleared up "a lot". Thank you Jesus. Thank you too for those who have been praying for her.

Ye-Ye (Chinese for Grandfather) is 83!

Meiching's father will be 83 years old this year. We had a great birthday celebration for him. We surprised him. We were all singing "Happy Birthday" (including Ye Ye) and when we got to the "happy birthday dear _____" and we all screamed "YE-YE" he was very shocked!

He's an awesome man of God - a wonderful father, grandfather and the best father-in-law a guy could want!

A Weekend in Orlando

We ran down to Orlando this weekend to be at a special birthday dinner for Meiching's father. He will be 83 years old! It was great to see everyone. On the way down, it rained a lot. As we got into Orlando, we saw a beautiful rainbow.

We all went to Sonny's BBQ for dinner and had a great time seeing cousins. Sarah enjoyed her iced tea too!

Sure, Sarah studies hard!

Well, just in case you are wondering, Sarah does have lots of homework in 9th grade. So much so, she tries the Osmosis Method of studying..or is she praying over that work ? This photo was just taken!

So much to do, so little time!

Josiah visits the Audiologist

Well, today Josiah went to visit Mr. Pharo, the audiologist for Duval County Schools. He had a nice time getting his hearing tested. He had to drop a toy in a bucket if and when he "heard" anything. It was an interesting experience for him, for sure. Mr. Pharo was great!

Bekah's Journey to Good Health

Bekah, as many of you know, has struggled with food allergies, eczema, allergies, asthma, etc. We've been trying many new things since summer to try and get a better handle on things. Here she is using ICED WATER to relieve the itching! She's also shown here drinking some great Veggie Juice (thanks to Mommy's new Champion Juicer!).

Pray for Bekah as she endures all of this!

KBBC at Pump It Up

Last Saturday (9/13/08), the children's division of our church, Kernan Blvd Baptist Church, went to Pump It Up. What fun was had by all!

KBBC Youth Crud Night

Tonight was the Youth's Annual "Crud Night" at our church, KBBC. Jonah and Sarah and Leiah attended and some of their friends. They do a lot of crazy things and get really messy! The photos here are of Jonah and Zac Crook being "cleaned up."

I'm sending my love!

I miss mommy!!!!!  While mommy is at california  it just isn't the same. But she's coming home in 2 more days -yay!!!So while she's gone I get to spend a day with daddy because this afternoon my teenage mutant siblings are going to a Youth Event (CRUD Night) and  my other brothers and sisters are going with Gramma for the afternoon!!!!

     (P.S I LOVE YOU MOMMY!)

Yes, we're still painting!

Sarah and Daddy are trying to finish her room (the last to be painted).  They have only one more wall to go!  Sarah picked a nice "lilac" color.

We are having laminate wood floors installed on the entire second floor next week, so we need to finish painting by Sunday night!  We can do it!  (Mommy, who is in CA, will be proud!).

Enjoying the Pool

Well, as Mommy is in California with her sister-in-law Joan (Her brother Davy's wife) attending the Women of Faith conference, Gramma (Len's Mother) is here lending a helping hand.  After a long hard morning of keeping up with the 7 grandkids, Gramma hits the pool for some relaxing.

These photos are of her and Leiah and of her and Leiah and Josiah.  They just love having Gramma around.

The Family Clown

Well, since we are just starting this BLOG thing, we thought we would catch you up on some of the big events of recent.

A major happening for us was Jonah's graduation from CLOWN SCHOOL - yes, it is official - he's a clown!

He spent months going to clown school and learning magic and various things and is now an official part of the clown troupe!

Blue Tape Goes Where?

The girls said they'd tape their own baseboards for us, but I think they got a little confused.

It takes a Village!

Everyone is lending a hand. Jonah recruited Zac Crook to help him get his room painted. The boys just had to have an "outfit" for the job! There is no getting paint on their bodies!

Laboring on Labor Day

Well, we decided to do some painting today, and we're tackling all four of the kids' bedrooms. We are having laminate wood flooring installed next week and we figured it woudl be perfect time to paint (no need to lay covering down over the carpet!). We also did some moving around. Jonah now has his own room and all three girls are sharing the old boys' rooms (the larger bedroom upstairs) and Micah and Josiah moved to what was Bekah and Meiah's room. Lots of changes.

More to come.

Len & gang!
